Today the World Trade Center was destroyed along with the attack on the Pentagon. Today's date is 9/11. I wonder if the terrorists purposed their attack on this date, or if it was mere coincidence. Did the terrorists actually plan to send us a message of, "Emergency?" Whether they intended a deeper meaning by choosing this date, we may never know. However, may we always look at this day, and not only remember the tragic emergency that took place in the physical realm, but heed the warning as an emergency in the spiritual realm as well.
May we all put aside our petty differences, our plans, many of which are not God-ordained, our selfish desires, lusts of the flesh, and failure to live our lives in a manner that glorifies God. The days are short and we have not time for anything that won't endure for eternity.
There is an emergency in the land. People are dying. People are on their way to eternal damnation, and we, the body of Christ, have got to get over our self-centered agendas and live our lives for the glory and the work of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We must live our lives, fulfilling His will, His Work, and answering His Great Commission, even death.
Imagine if everything we ever knew as "America" ended today, what would stand in your life? As I asked myself this question, I see areas in my life, which need to be surrendered to Jesus Christ. I am sure that if you asked yourself this question, you would find similar answers. The only thing that will last is what we sow into the eternal harvest. There is an emergency in the land, and the body of Christ has to rise together and answer the call.
May the sirens of this "911" call never fail to dim in our ears. For as real as the victims on the doomed airplanes, and those who have met their fate buried underneath the symbols of power and economic strength which our country is founded upon, there are, for each day many victims who are waiting for each of us to extend our hands into the fiery flames of their realm and pull them out of the crumbling, rubble of their lives.
It is 911! It is an emergency! We must intercede; we must take our places in the army of the Lord! We must pick up our weapons of warfare and battle the powers of darkness and set free those who are bound!
My heart goes out to all of those whose lives were ravaged on September 11, 2001. Though many people's lives will never be the same, we must remember that without Christ all else will fade. Jesus Christ is the solid rock that every foundation must be built upon. Without coming to a place of knowing Christ, we will never find the peace that we need to endure this life.
In 1999 evangelist Rodney Howard-Browne had a dream to go to New York City and hold the largest soul-winning crusade since the 1950s. While he preached, he was led by the Spirit of God to warn New York regarding the axe of terror that was plotting our nation's destruction. He actually said in 1999, "What would happen, if a missile landed in middle of New York City?" To see the clip and the promotion for the Great Awakening Tour, click here: Great Awakening
Many churches were offended that Rodney Howard Browne went to New York City to hold a soul winning campaign. He did it anyway. He paid for it himself, and his team of soul winners went out on the New York City streets daily, for six weeks, telling people about the Good News of Christ's salvation. As a result, there were 48, 459 salvations and rededications.
How great is the need for our country and churches to work together for God's harvest, instead of constantly fighting, backbiting, and hindering the work of God. Today is the day of Salvation; today is the day of God's favor. Seek the Lord while He may be found. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us, and countries are still plotting our downfall. There is nothing secure in this life. We cannot trust riches, fame, success, or even our current American way of life. We must put our faith in Christ and Christ alone.

Post a CommentI am still very thankful to President Bush that we have not had another terrorist attack in this country. So many people want to bite my head off just for saying that, but it is absolutely true. No one can really know what goes on behind the Oval Office doors, and one thing is certain, President Bush was focused on keeping us safe from another terrorist attack and he has done that. Who knows how many attacks have been thwarted.
Yes I agree, we as a nation must not forget what happened on that day. If if were not for some type of reprival would have suffered greater attacks on this country. As christians we are not suppose to be blind to the plans and the pursuits of the enemy, and our voices are supposed to be heard both in the congress as well as the court of heaven. The world really doesn't understand the theology behind the muslim belief system and we as christians should be reaching out to them, and at the same time voicing our concerns to the congress as to how to better address this threat that we now live with. Last but not least we must find a place of agreement in the christian community and seek Gods face for this nation until he answers. So much spin of opinions causes confusion at times and in the end we forget how or why something began.
