97th Annual Spencer, New York, Picnic Features Talent Show, Parade

The 97th Annual Spencer Picnic kicks off August 15th in Spencer, New York, with its kids night with the kiddie parade and talent show. The annual family carnival continues all week until its culmination on Saturday, August 18th with their traditional 50/50 raffle drawing. This year's theme is "Dredging up the Past" and if you're from this area, stopping by the Spencer Picnic will do just that.

What does this small town carnival have to offer you? Thursday Night, August 16th, will bring us the Little Miss and Mister Spencer Picnic Pageant, followed by live music from Honky Tonk pianist, Rick Pedro. You can also ride the rides, play games of chance including Bingo all night if you wish. Friday Night brings us the Junior Miss Spencer Picnic Pageant followed by live music from local band, Triple Play as well as Spencer's own The Group followed up by the areas best fireworks display, if it doesn't rain on them.

Saturday is a fun filled day of activity, starting at 7am with Breakfast at the Park, followed by the annual parade. After you enjoy the parade, you'll want to make your way to the best chicken Bar-B-Q of the summer, held at the park. After you enjoy your lunch, you can hang around take in the car show or take part in the Thunder in the Park Motorcycle Ride. If rides are your thing, Saturday afternoon is all you can ride for one price, if not, there is the Orange Crate Derby, Fireman's Safe House Demonstration and the Car Show. If that's not enough, There will be live music from Spencer's own TLS, the Miss Spencer Picnic Pageant followed by more live music from Doin' Time. Everything wraps up Saturday night with the Raffle drawing or fireworks should they be rained out Friday night.

For the car or motorcycle enthusiasts, you can take part in the car and custom motorcycle shows, both of which have their own prize awards given out throughout the day on Saturday.
