I dug the story until the end at which point it just got really weird. I'd have given this 4 stars but the ending left me hanging and disappointed. There are several missed plot opportunities (mainly surrounding the old man) in my opinion, and the film could have been a lot better if certain other avenues were taken.
This would have worked really well as a live action indie production. It had the feel of a quirky indie flick, but perhaps budget got in the way. For a stop motion film, a genre I almost never watch, I thought it was decent. It won't blow anyone's socks off, but it's short enough that it's not time wasted either.
