9th Anniversary of 9/11: Todd Beamer's "Let's Roll" Still a Call Today

Religious Tolerance Does Not Mean Religious Ignorance: Know What the Koran Says to Its Followers

Radell Smith
Today in America, on this Saturday, September 11, 2010, I join with many fellow Americans in remembering the dead who died at the hands of Islamic believers. I do not use the words Islamic extremists on purpose, as Islam is an extreme religion, calling for the killing of all infidels; therefore, any member of the religous group is an extremist in my humble opinion. You cannot call for the death of anyone not of your faith and be called nonextreme.

The Koran, such a controversial book and in the news a lot lately, is quite clear in its passages about what an Islamic follower is to do: attempt to convert the infidels and kill them if they refuse. I just don't know any other way to put that than what it says.

In New York, where almost 3,000 people were killed without even getting an invite to join the Islamic movement of faith, I guess you could call those Islamic believers 'extreme' who drove the planes into the twin towers, since they didn't even try to convert their eventual victims before killing them. But the fact of the matter is, the same extremism is rampant all over the world today in that faith. Just turn on the television and listen to the Islamic believers in Indonesia calling for the death of all Americans for the actions of one man in Florida. How extreme are they? Very!

So as we as a country mourn the loss of the men and women who made our country great, let us not forget the ones who stood up and fought those extremists to the very end: Todd "Let's Roll" Beamer, for one. A true American he was, as he didn't just die fighting to save other Americans; Todd died trying to stop Islamic men from forcing their ways on other Americans.

Now, in New York, where that tragedy occured, other Islamic men are attempting to force their ways on Americans too, insisting they have a "right" to build near Ground Zero in spite of the insensitivity of such a move. And these men are doing it by driving bombs of political influence on us instead of airplanes.

Will we allow an American president to remain in office who supports their agenda? One who acknowledges he spent his impressionable years growing up outside our country, learning from Islamic, Muslim entities instead? Or will we be like Todd and say, "Let's Roll" come November? I hope and pray that the Todd's of America still exist and will show so in the coming months.

Todd stopped that plane, along with other Americans on board Flight 93. It isn't too late to stop the plane that attempts to take over the White House and our government either. I'm calling all the "Todd's" to step up to the plate. It's truly time we all said, "Let's Roll."

  • Todd Beamer: His fight against Islamic men included this phrase "Let's Roll".
  • Todd Beamer: He didn't hesitate to fight back against the Islamic men trying to kill him and others.
  • Todd Beamer: A hero to all Americans for his willingness to motivate other Americans to fight back.
Fighting back against oppression and tyranny was what built America in the first place. Let us not forget it at this crucial hour: "Let's Roll" like Todd Beamer did and fight back against our would-be oppressors.

Sherri: Since I know nothing about Mark and you obviously know a lot, you should do him justice and write an article in tribute to him and his role that day.

Mark Bingham was also a hero on Flight 93--he gets less credit since he was gay..but he and Todd Beamer are both heroes.rip

To "Calling the BS": Islam is based on the Koran. The Koran explicitly states that infidels are those who do not embrace Islam. Infidels, according to the Koran, which is the "Bible" of Islam followers, calls for the killing of infidels. What part of that entire religion can be separated, as it is all based on one book? Radell is calling it correctly. The terrorists are not few; they all adhere merely to Islam teaching. If you had read the Koran you would know this. How is repeating the truth of the Koran "hate"?

You say all members of Islam are extremists. What an ignorant comment Radell Hunter.
This article is full of hate. How can you denigrate an entire religion based on the acts of a few terrorists.

And take English 101, many grammer errors in this article.

Fantastic! It is sad the topic but you laid out the facts as they are. There is absolute truth like it or not, and the sooner America wakes up to that fact and see the truth for what it is, we are going to suffer because of our own stupidity and or "head in the sand" mentality. We cannot let anyone take advantage of our good will nature as Americans. Our forefathers would not just sit down. They didn't. If you don't know this...(anyone reading), then get your eyes out of revised history books, and television which is trying to rewrite our history and censor it, and learn what the true history of this nation is. When you know where you came from, only then will you know where you are going! I'm with Radell.... Vote these anti American people (ideas) out in November. This is not the time to be afraid. I'm with the idea of "let's roll".

Let's call extremism what it is: Extremism. Let's get the extremists of this country out of our government. Let's roll!

    :o) Let's roll, indeed!
