9-Year-Old Victim of Arizona Shooting's Funeral to Be Picketed by Westboro Baptist Church

Yesterday, the world was turned upside down for the people of Tuscon, Arizona when a gunman shot at Representative Gabrielle Giffords injuring the congresswoman and several others while taking the lives of six innocent bystanders. One of those bystanders was 9-year-old Christina Green, a little girl who was on the student council for her elementary school, who wanted to see what government in action was really about.

Since Gabrielle Giffords meeting with constituents was not far from Christina's home, this was an ideal opportunity for the young girl who loved politics and baseball. What should have been a learning experience for the 9 year old girl has now turned into a tragedy for her family and the families of all suspected gunman Jared Lee Loughner's victims.

As if this tragedy wasn't enough to wake up the American people to the hate being infested into the country through political motivations, another group has decided to stir the pot of hate even further. The Westboro Baptist Church, a hate group by any reasonable standards, has issued a statement saying, "Thank god for the shooter- 6 Dead! The WBC will picket their funerals!"

Christina Green, who suddenly and viciously lost her life because a twisted man put a bullet in her chest, now cannot even be laid to rest peacefully? What possible reason could the Westboro Baptist Church have to picket the funeral of a 9 year old victim? Westboro Baptist Church claims the girl was not innocent because she had the poor taste to be born on 9/11/2001, the day the twin towers fell.

According to the latest press release from the hatemongering church, "The 9-year-old girl was born 9/11/01! "Hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it," Mic. 6:9. God mercifully gave this nation a fair warning on 9/11 - but you despise His mercies, so you get no more mercy - man, woman or child. That's how God the Avenger rolls! That child was not innocent. This is a nation of depraved perverts who pass their children through the fire of their rage against God & all-consuming lust. From the womb, she was taught to hate God & mock His servants. That child is better off dead, so the cup of her iniquity will not overflow!"

It is amazing, crazy and downright disgusting that WBC would attack a child in this manner. Although, it is not shocking in the least. These people are already training their children to hate in the same manner that they have hate festering in their souls.

Christina Green's funeral should be a peaceful one where a child, who died tragically because of an evil human, can be mourned by the people who loved her, not ripped to shreds and made a mockery of for political gain, stature or the breeding of hate that would be done with the Westboro Baptist Church's plans to picket.

Let us remember the 9-year-old Christina for who she was, a young girl with a love of baseball who sang with the St.Olidia Roman Catholic Choir, loved her pet geckos and who belonged to Kidz Helping Kids, a charity group that gets kids to help other kids who are less fortunate.
