If you are trying to get away from everything for a little while and truly feel as if you have "come home" you do not want to miss out on this aptly named Motel in Northern California.

The Columbia Gem Motel offers 13 cozy cabins ranging from $99.00 to $159.00 in price range. Each Cabin has its own personal charm which is lovingly looked after by the Owner Rene Cappadocia and his head housekeeper Louise Bergevin, as well as assistant housekeeper Chris.

Rene Cappadocia purchased this Motel 13 Years ago and has made it a truly home-away- from- home atmosphere since than. It is designed for those of us who need to relax for a while, let the stress roll off our shoulders, and want to get away from all the "cookie cutter" big chain Motels for a while.

This is not the type of Cabin Motel you want to frequent during a business trip since you will neither find wifi hookups or phones in the cabins. It truly gives you the push to decompress and just get away for a while.

The Cabin Rooms are non-smoking, but for those of us who are smokers there are chairs and a table right outside the cabin rooms for you to sit outside in the fresh air to enjoy your surroundings while having your cigarette.

The Courtyard with its umbrella covered wooden picnic benches and tables welcomes you to sit back, read a book, BBQ, or enjoy a meal. Don't worry if you forgot your BBQ Grill, the Courtyard spouts 3 Grills you are welcome to use.

The location too is wonderful for those of you who enjoy outdoors, historical landmarks, parks and more. Right of Historical Hwy 49 North it is near Columbia State Park and within in less than 10 miles from Jamestown, Angels Camp and Sonora.

Come during the Months of July to October and you will find more than enough to do in the surrounding areas, with festivals, concerts and more going on every weekend.

If you don't want to drive around, but would like to spend a few hours walking around in historical downtown Sonora, Jamestown and Columbia I would suggest you take advantage of the trolley which only costs $4.00 per adult person for the day and runs the entire three town range.

Rene runs a quiet Motel where you can still feel safe and at home. You are not going to be disturbed at night by loud screaming or obnoxious behaviors of fellow guests which you are frequently subjected to in other Motels.

Oh and let us not forget "Baby" the good will ambassador who will be happy to greet you as you enjoy your morning coffee. Baby being the delightful Motel Cat who takes great delight in greeting the guests personally.

So if you are looking for a little bit of peace and quiet in a world which has become entirely too rushed and stressful these days, I would highly recommend this wonderful little Gem in Northern California.
