A 2010 New Year Celebration

Guess What My New Year's Resolution Will Be

Harriet Steinberg
Our club celebrates
New Years every year
On 2010 we will enter a room greeted by
Dazzling lights that skirt the walls.

Tables adorned with
Embellishing flowers, nosemakers, and blowers,
An air of elegance
All around.

With a sizzling cocktail in our hands
And a brilliant smile,
We'll be welcomed before
We're seated.

A band and a singer
With its vivid melodies
Will vibrate in the air.

The people will look different
As we glance around,
No more shorts or jeans,
Tuxedoes and gowns.

After seeing all the glamorous clothes,My New year's resolution will be to get rid of the clothes I don't wear any more.

My New Year's resolution is going to be to try and not feel so hopeless about what is going on in our country right now, but I think that's one I'll probably have a tough time with.

I like the image in the poem. I thought you were going to be waltzing in Vienna for New Year's.

I love where you took this poem and how it led up to the ending.
