A Little Poem Celebrating a New Beginning in the New Year
Out with the old, in with the new
My dear old soon-to-be-ex
I'm referring to you!
On that fateful Spring day in 2008
I thought I met the love of my life
and true soul mate
Our relationship
once so romantic, so perfect, so fine
Turned into an positive nightmare
by the Fall of '09
So, here we are, approaching a New Year
It's almost 2010
Whence you will be gone from my life
and I'll be single again
Still, in the New Year
I want to wish you the best
Although I would feel better
If you wore a Scarlett Letter
To warn all the rest ...
Out with the old, in with the new,
I am greeting my new life
In saying my good-bye to you!
