A 7-Day Journey to Wellness

It is a well-known fact that we all try to multi-task and get as much crammed into one day as we possibly can. While we may find this helpful in our everyday tasks, it is quite detrimental to our bodies. If you are the type of person who likes to put off exercising, or makes the same New Year's resolution to eat better every year, you will probably find that such promises to yourself never really happen. It is time to get back to taking care of yourself in order to obtain overall wellness. This article will provide you with the information that you need to start getting your wellness back on track in seven days, through light exercising.

Most doctors recommend at least 30 minutes of cardio work every day. The purpose of a cardio regimen is to help you maintain a healthy heart. In order for your heart to be healthy it needs exercise just like every other part of your body.

Resistance workouts are designed to provide exercise for your muscles. You can effectively maintain good muscle tone, or even create more toned muscles, through resistance workouts. You will burn excess fats and other harmful substances in your body through this type of exercising.

A typical daily exercise should be split into 3 parts: warm up stretching, cardio exercises, resistance exercise, and then coll down stretching. Your warm up stretching should provide a slow stretching that grows in speed that will help you transitions smoothly into your cardio workout. Your cardio workout can include running/jogging or riding a bike. If you cannot do this outside, there are plenty of exercise equipment models that can help you reach your cardio goals. From cardio, you should immediately transition into your resistance workout. Once you have completed those, you should go straight to your cool down stretching. This is important in helping your heart rate slow down normally instead of just stopping.

If you do this same routine every day, you should start to notice a difference in your overall wellness within a week or two. As each week progresses, you will notice the differences more. By the time that you have reached the six to eight week mark, you may even notice that you are losing weight or that you have dropped a size or two in clothing! You will also notice that your muscles are more lean and more toned.
