A Bad Economy Could Give You the Inspiration to Find that Dream Job
Thinking Outside the Box Is Easier When You Have Lots of Time
Think About your Problems
Think about problems you face every day. Don't think about the piling stack of bills; think about things like trying to get that stubborn pickle jar open. Find solutions to your everyday problems, and you might just be on to something lucrative. After all, if you are experiencing the issue, you probably aren't the only one.
Look for Improvements
Look for ways to improve goods or services that already exist. Finding a more efficient way to make something or figuring out how to offer expanded services could place you in a great position.
Differentiate
Find a good market you are comfortable with, and figure out a way to differentiate a business. Find a really unique way to make the ordinary extraordinary.
Network
Network with an alliance of peers. If you have time on your hands, growing your network could help put you in a better position later on. Of course, it also gives you time to speak with other adults and helps you feel productive, even if nothing is going on.
Think Fusion
Fusion is as delicious with a career as it is with food. Find a way to mesh together two careers using your existing career as a base. For instance, if you are an accountant and want to go into working in the medical field, pursue a health care degree. Then, you could work in billing and have a firm grasp on both accounting and medical issues. The possibilities are endless.
Keep an Open Mind
Just because something doesn't seem like a dream job doesn't mean it's not going to help you get there. Get any position you can at any company, and use your job as an interview for a higher position. Really wow them with your skills, and chances are any company worth working for will use your talents and reward hard work.
In a bad economy, your dream job can actually be more accessible than in a good economy. When times are good, it's easy to keep the blinders on. However, now you have to be more creative than ever, and that can lead to some very rewarding results.
