A Beautiful Christmas

A Poem

Julie Michael
Exquisite ribbons curled, tied in bows-
Flashing lights in greens and reds,
Lovely trees, glistening needles, sweetly scented,
Shiny paper, taped so carefully;
Lovely symbols of Christmas.
Reminders of the joys of the Season,
This beautiful Season of Giving.

Snow lightly dusts the ground, sparkling white,
Stars glow brightly in a clear sky,
Hot cocoa and marshmallows sweetly scent,
Stockings displayed carefully above a roaring fire,
Christmas Eve is filled with anticipation,
Families gather together, homes filled with love.

Laughter and joy fill the air, ringing aloud,
As each knows the joy of giving, of love.
Christmas Day, beautiful to share,
In the same Spirit in which He arrived,
On that night so long ago,
He Himself, the ultimate Gift.
