A Beautiful Day

towongfoo27
Today was a beautiful day,
Perfect in every way,
Had some mother-daughter time,
Walking on the trail sublime,
Blue sky, geese and conversation,
The wind a cool sensation,
Chatting about this and that,
Spending time with mom is where it's at,
The rush of the nearby water,
Trickling downstream even louder,
Flowers pink, purple, red and yellow,
The weather sunny but mellow,
Bikers and couples pass by,
We smile and say hi,
Trees in bloom line the path,
As we watch a goose take a bath,
People are out and about,
A few men fishing for trout,
Dragonflies are everywhere,
As we can't help but stare,
We visit the library,
For books on the whimsical fairy,
We even reserve time on a computer,
To print out an important piece of paper,
Mocha coffee is allowed,
Of this discovery, Mom and I are wowed,
The crisp air call us again,
As our time at the public library comes to an end,
We walk in the sun and the shade,
As a motorcycle gang bades,
We finally arrive at Bally Doyle,
Cause me my mom wants to spoil,
We walk in,
To some little girls loudly singing,
Their pitch and tone is too much,
So outside to the balcony we rush,
We are able,
To find our own table,
Umbrella shading from the sun,
The good times have begun,
Jed is our waiter,
He brings out our diet cokes later,
Our menu are full of Irish venues,
And many edible avenues,
We choose steak boxty,
As we sit next to the Foxy,
Slowly sipping our diet cokes,
We watch the movement the pigeons evoke,
Circling overhead again and again,
Our diet cokes we defend,
The steak boxty arrives in all its glory,
The first bite tells an old Irish story,
A potato pancakes,
Full of veggies, sauce, and steak,
With a side of mashed potatoes,
Even had diced tomatoes,
With just enough and not too much,
Through the meal we try not to rush,
Yet our boxty is gone in five minutes,
Along with our Irish bliss,
We clean off our plates,
Already tempting dessert as a fate,
The waiter clears off our table,
Mom smiling like in an Irish fable,
We decide to order dessert,
For our sugar tooth, we don't want to desert,
Profiterole is sweet, doughy, and rich,
Cream puffs and chocolate sauce and you're hitched,
Creamy vanilla custard fills the inside,
Mom's and my taste buds go for a ride,
Scooping up the bittersweet chocolate sauce,
Our palate and love of things new is the boss,
The cream puff is very eggy,
Reminds me of a popover's legacy,
The vanilla custard is so thick,
It disappears quick,
The best birthday meal and day I ever had,
Makes my heart glad,
Glad to be with mom on such a beautiful day,
There's so much to say,
Love between a mother and her daughter,
Is like no other,
The bond is very strong,
Like carefully thought-out lyrics in a song.
