A Beautiful Frost-bite

A Poem I Wrote While Visiting My First Home, the Cold Never Felt so Warm

Nikki Freeman
Air
Crisp and cold
Thick through my thin air passages
How I love to grasp for breath
The wind feels like tiny pieces of jagged ice
All piercing through my thin sweatshirt
I hug myself
The ground taps my feet
So differently
The sky is darker
So differently
My hair tied back in a rubber band
Memories scatter lightly, like the fallen snow
Ice flakes nipping my nose
Reality is far away
In a place that is warm
A place I have no will to return to
Though there are people around me
The cold isolates my soul
Comforts me
Fullfills me

Nikki, this is great. The language totally feels cold! :) Reading it made my mind shiver. The kinda asymetrical rhyme scheme is really cool too. Nice work!
