A Biography of Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Nicole Simpson-Wentz was born on October 3, 1984. She is a American pop rock singer/songwriter. She is also well known due to her pop star singer Jessica Simpson.

Early Life

Ashlee Simpson was born in Waco, Texas and grew up in Richardson, Texas. Her parents are Joe Truett Simpson who was a former Baptist youth minister and now is her manager, and her mother is Tina Ann Drew. At the age of three Ashlee Simpson began the study of Classical ballet. She attended Prairie Creek Elementary and at the age of eleven she was admitted to the School of American Ballet in NYC. While attending the accredited ballet school Ashlee Simpson developed an eating disorder which lasted for about six months. Ashlee and her family moved to Los Angeles, California when her sister Jessica Simpson landed a record deal. That is when Ashlee started appearing in television commercials. Simpson also became one of the back up dancers for her sister. Due to her sisters fame she also got the opportunity to appear in sitcom episodes such as Malcolm in the Middle, 7th Heaven and a small role in the movie The Hot Chick.

Career

Ashlee Simpson's first album was Autobiography. The album went triple platinum in 2004 September. During the Teen Choice Awards on August 8, 2004 Ashlee Simpson won the "Song of the Summer" Teen Choice Award for her single from her first album "Pieces of Me", along with the "Fresh Face" award. Not to mention the Billboard Award she won for the New Female of the Year in December. Ashlee Simpson also made occasional appearances on Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica along with her own MTV reality show The Ashlee Simpson Show.

Ashlee Simpson appeared in Undiscovered, a independent film released in theatres on August 2005. The film itself had incredibly negative reviews earning only $676,048. She also earned a Razzie nominee for the worst supporting actress.

Simpson released her second album in October 18, 2005 called I am Me. She has appeared in several magazines, Teen People, Blender, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen, Elle, Jane, Marie Claire and CosmoGirl.

In 2006 Ashlee Simpson hosted and performed at the MTV Australia Video Music Awards, where she also won the "Best Female Artist" and "Best Pop Video". Simpson released her third album Bittersweet World on April 22, 2008.

Personal Life

Ashlee Simpson has a total of seven tattoos including a star on one wrist, two cherries on her ankle, the word love on the other wrist, the number 3 later added to one wrist, and a peony flower on one of her wrists as well. Simpson dated actor Josh Henderson which lasted for about two years. She then began dating musician Ryan Cabrera, which ended in August of 2004. Ryan and Ashlee soon got back together only for the relationship to end in early 2005. Later on in 2005 there were rumors developed that Simpson had began dating Wilmer Valderrama an ex of actress/singer Lindsay Lohan. Later that year there were rumors that Ashlee Simpson was dating Chris Raab. On February 2006 Simpson told Seventeen Magazine she was dating her bandmate Braxton Olita.

On May 17,2008 Ashlee Simpson marred the bass player of the group Fall Out Boy , Pete Wentz. On April 14 Us Weekly and OK! Magazine made reports that Simpson was pregnant. On May 28, 2008 Ashlee and Pete Wentz announced they were expecting their first child. On November 20, 2008 Simpson gave birth to their first son and named him Bronx Mowgli Wentz.
