A Birdie for Tiger!

SB
For two weeks that Tiger Woods had been in the news, I could say that I was with him all throughout. I am not his fan, I am not a golfer and we're definitely not related to each other.

But, I've been writing all my life. I know how media works, and how hard it is for any public figure to win in a trial by publicity. I sympathized for all the victims, and their families. Guilty or not, it's always a no-win situation for them.

Yesterday, when I wrote of Elin staying with Tiger, I told myself "that's it!" I can stop writing about Tiger and his family. But, with what he did today, I just can't! Because, everything I hope would happen for him, did happen today. And I am so happy!

He stepped up, fully admits his infidelity, sincerely apologized to everybody and made the world realize how much he loves and value his family more than anything else in this world.

He asked for indefinitely leave and is ready to give up his stardom for his family.

"After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf," Woods said. "I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person," as posted in his website.

Another thing was when PGA Tour released their statement in support to Tiger's decision.

"His priorities are where they need to be, and we will continue to respect and honor his family's request for privacy," PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem said in a statement, according to the Associated Press.

It's the tour's first public comment since Woods mentioned his "transgression" on Dec. 2. "We look forward to Tiger's return to the PGA Tour when he determines the time is right for him," Finchem added.

It's never easy to say sorry, especially if you have the gigantic figure behind your name.

Tiger is not the only man in the world who cheated but, he's definitely one of the very, very few who admitted.

I'm truly hats off and, touched! Even his closest pals in golf, think so.

"I think it's great that he's going to put his family first and work things out," Steve Stricker said. "Golf will always be there. He wants to make sure his marriage is right and everything is good on the home front. We'll sure miss him on tour until he gets things taken care of."

His sponsors also have expressed their support to Tiger and they are all open for dialogue on his endorsements and everybody is just willing to come into terms in whatever way Tiger would want it.

That's a bad news for all his detractors.

All I can say, we can't just judge anyone by a single thing or a single mistake, and forget all his good deeds. God gave us two hands for us to weigh both the good and the bad. We will all be judged with how we did on both and what we truly have inside our hearts.
