A Boil Down of the Two Most Interactive Sites on the Web: Facebook and Myspace

The Face Off of My Spaces

Daniel Rigney Jr.
These days the world seems to revolve around the internet. It has not a problem doing so.

And in the e-world there are many places of interest that seem to be epic centers of social interaction and unionization. Some of the most stunning are of course Facebook and Myspace. These two social profiling sites are a very unique part of internet culture and hold the membership of millions of individual persons that have a wonderful arrangement of options available to connect and present themselves to other people all over the world. In this article I will evaluate the pros and cons of both, the pull these sites have, how they both have come to enormous power positions, and to the utterly final and grinding answer to the infamous question...Which one is over all better than the other? Myspace or Facebook?

To start this I will include that I have been using Myspace for some years now. It has proven priceless to me for keeping up and staying contact with all of my friends and associates that I meet in the many travels I do as a professional musician and rambler.

If you do not like phones much, or just simply do not have the time to contact everyone, this can prove to be a wonderful way to briefly gain touch with those certain persons. I, myself have three different profiles, my personal profile, music page, and company profile. In my pages, I can post relatively anything I want, from my favorite videos, music and books to an artistic vision of me. I am provided with completely free blogs, bulletin alerts, comments, photo galleries, classifieds, applications, and a whole lot more, that I am free to edit or update at any time. If you have a band, I would advise strongly to using Myspace to upload your music and present it to the crowds. You can of course upload your music and update your fans constantly. I have found my previous band through the classifieds provided by Myspace. And to top it a lot of recording labels search for music potentials straight out of this social gathering site. I find nothing that currently crosses mind wrong with Myspace at all. Its only downfall is it has been around awhile. This leads to boredom with a lot of people. But still it is a great interaction provider that we continue to be around for the ages.

Recently in the past year I have been introduced to Facebook. This site is very much similar in almost all ways to Myspace, but has a much quicker way of requesting friends. I advise to use this social site for more professional outlooks. It has an interesting way of posting updates. Most of all activities are recorded on your "Wall". This is great for journalistic like activities and such. This site also was originally strictly for college associated people but has now opened to the mainstream internet world. It has seen an incredible exodus of persons joining to where they are now currently humongous. Persons can do fewer interactions though then what they can do with a mega site such as Myspace.

A lot of people make the simple mistake of assuming that Myspace is "dead" and that Facebook is the "new" interaction site. They then proceed to join and solely interact at this site. I suggest that you be more creative. Use both!

Now to come to the answer... Facebook or Myspace? I personally think Myspace is the best interaction site you will see around. I believe that a great majority of Facebook usage is strictly hype. But after all it is your choice and this is my opinion. Choose wisely my friend.

I'm with you on that one. In Myspace, you still feel like you just created your own website. Facebook doesn't give you the same feeling.
