A Brief Look at the Roster of the Muskegon Lumberjacks

John Vann
Now that the brand new incarnation of the Muskegon Lumberjacks have played a few games, and have a few wins under their belt already, let's take a moment to have a look at some players who may be rising stars in the International Hockey League, and those who are going to try and take the new Muskegon Lumberjacks to a first year championship.

We'll start with the goalie position - one of the most important roles on the ice rink. At the time of this writing, the only goalie to make an appearance has been Isaac Reichmuth. The 5'11", 175 lb, 27-year-old hails out of Fruitvale, British Columbia, Canada. He has given up 5 goals in only 2 games, therefore averaging 2.5 goals against per game, but so far this has been enough to stave off the competition.

Next we'll take a look at the point leader of the Muskegon Lumberjacks: right wing Luke Stauffacher. From Madison, Wisconsin, he has 3 goals himself on only 6 shots, and very well might turn out to be the team's franchise player at nearly 30 years old. Right there next to him, however, is the team's center, Todd Robinson from Trail, British Columbia, Canada. He also has 3 goals on 6 shots and is 2 years the elder of Luke. There is no doubt that both men are entirely separate forces to be reckoned with on the Muskegon Lumberjacks roster.

Besides Luke Stauffacher and Todd Robinson, only two team members have scored any goals whatsoever. Their 21-year-old, 6'1" center Maximie Lincourt, has 1 goal on 3 shots, giving him a percentage of .333. Last but not least on the scoreboards for the Muskegon Lumberjacks is Henry Kuster, a 230 pound forward who has 1 point to show for the 4 shots he has taken at the goal.

Just because the rest of the team hasn't yet scored, doesn't mean that they are not performing. The Muskegon Lumberjacks' defense is as solid as it gets - and their winning record proves it. So far they have managed to dominate their opponents, both outscoring and outplaying them on the ice. No doubt the little city of Muskegon, Michigan has another great hockey team in the International Hockey League to look forward to and cheer on as they mop up the ice with all comers. Look for more reports on the Muskegon Lumberjacks ice hockey team coming soon - in the meantime, you can visit their team website at www.muskegonlumberjacks.com.
