A New Buffy Movie in the Works, Jon & Kate Premiere Address Infidelity Rumors and Mike Tyson's Daughter in Critical Condition

Drama and tragedy seem to be the themes for this loathed Day-After-Memorial-Day-Weekend. Whedonites the world over are disgusted to learn that a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie is in the works, mostly because Whedon and the popular show's cast won't be included. Jon & Kate Plus Eight premiered and fans finally heard the couple respond to the "cheating" allegations. Finally, boxer Mike Tyson has rushed to Phoenix to be with his 4-year-old daughter after a tragic accident left her on life support.

Buffy Without Whedon? Not a Good Choice

I can't lie. This Joss Whedon fan's heart jumped excitedly at the thought of a Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. Then I read the fine print: No Joss Whedon. It will be neither a sequel or prequel to the popular show. No Willow, Xander, Angel, Spike or Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar).

Fran Rubel Kuzui, the director of the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie, (an utter box office failure) and husband Kaz Kuzui have maintained the rights to the franchise since the first film and are reportedly wielding them boldly in the faces of Twilight and fantasy lovers alike. According to E!Online, the new film will introduce a new slayer and friends, going off of the plot that with every generation has its own vampire slayer.

While it's common knowledge that Gellar wouldn't likely take up her iconic role again, the thought of Buffy without Whedon is a little sickening. Whedon was the only reason the movie wasn't the last we saw of the Sunnydale residents. We grew to love Buffy and her motley crew of friends and enemies. While Kuzui told E!Online that they haven't ruled out talking to Whedon, they haven't exactly asked him either.

Doesn't look like a good sign.

Jon & Kate Angrily Keep Us Up to Date

It was the bristling, awkward interview that everyone who loves the TLC show Jon & Kate Plus 8 was waiting for. The season premiere of the popular show reportedly drew a record of 9.8 million viewers. The show followed Jon and Kate as they celebrated their sextuplets' fifth birthday, complete with interviews about the alleged cheating on Jon's part.

It was an interview filled with uncomfortable silences and cold looks, with Jon grumbling about his innocence and Kate wearily explaining how they've grown apart after 10 years of marriage. Other than that, no questions were really answered, unless you were reading into the aforementioned silence.

Mike Tyson's Daughter in Critical Condition

The boxing star's 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, is on life support after getting her neck tangled in a treadmill cord in her home on Monday. According to E!Online, the young girl was playing on the treadmill at the time and was found by her 7-year-old brother. She was taken to Phoenix's St. Joseph's Hospital by her mother. Tyson came straight from Las Vegas to be by her side.

Though I've never been a huge fan of Tyson, no parent should have to deal with such tragedy.
