A Busy Mom's Christmas Poem

Kim Keason
Two days before Christmas
So much to do
Look up at the ceiling
What is that goo?

Need to do laundry
Christmas outfits are dirty
How did that happen?
It's still a mystery

Run and take out the garbage
The trash men are near
Beat them to the curb
Super Mom is here!

Dough in the fridge
To make cookies galore
Still need more food
Off to the grocery store

The kids are both griping
They don't want to go
They want to stay home
And play in the snow

Rush home and clean
The house is a wreck
Grab a bottle of wine
Oh, what the heck?

The gifts in the closet
I still need to wrap
Been up since six
No time for a nap

Serving dinner on Christmas
And the night before
Family and friends gather
Who could need anything more?

This is for all
Whose work never ends
Merry, Merry Christmas
To the Moms and their friends!

Girl, this is just perfect!!!! It describes what the entire month of December is like for me. Honestly, I slept the entire day after Christmas because I had just exhausted myself. Still, I'm sad to see the holidays go. Hope you had a good one, sweetie!

I remember those days when it seemed there would never be enough time or energy or rest -- but they pass all too soon... Merry Christmas!
