Today I lit a candle;
In the memory of my dear father;
Before the patron of all fathers;
The earthly guardian of our Lord;
And I said I silent prayer;
For a moment I felt him there;
A strong and gentle hand;
Resting on my shoulder;
And I tell him how much I've missed him;
Ever since he went away;
I wonder if he is proud of me;
And of what I am today;
I smile about the happy times;
Although I don't really remember;
But I grieve about the happy times;
Which were never meant to be;
I lift my eyes toward Heaven;
And I believe that he is there;
Reunited with my mother;
Yet always my father;
He is praying for me still;
For death will never separate;
Faithful and loving hearts;
From a Father's love.

Lisa, those who love us and have passed on do indeed watch over us who remain on Earth. This is an awesome tribute, and I am sorry you lost him before you really got to know him. Oh, and Billy, you're a tool. Go @#*% yerself!
