A Car Lover's Review of the Amazing Honda Accord Models for 2010

The 2010 Honda Accord Models Really Shine This Year as Reliable and Stylish Transportation

The Honda Accord has been a favorite with consumers for more than 34 years now. It was first introduced to the American auto buying public in 1976 as a two door hatchback and was the slightly larger brother of the Civic. This new Accord had a 1.6 Liter in-line four cylinder engine that grudgingly gave out a mere 68 horsepower.

My friend Steve had one of these back in 1982 and it was getting over 30 mpg highway back then! They offered a two speed automatic transmission but most were purchased with the 5 speed stick shift since the automatic ate up way too many of the far too few ponies under the hood!

So now we fast forward 34 years and see that the Accord has evolved into something completely amazing when compared to its origins. First, the 2010 Accord model now has three different Accord flavors to choose from, the Sedan, a Coupe, and the "Cross Tour" Crossover vehicle.

The most amazing thing is the engines have become so high tech that they are grinding out massive amounts of horsepower when compared to the meager 68 horsepower of the 1976 model.

In comparison the three new models of Honda Accord all come with the same zippy little 3.5 Liter V6 engine that makes 271 Horsepower. Even with this the car is just barely getting the same mileage as the 1976 Accord did with its skimpy little 1.6 Liter 68 horsepower engine! Now they have a stout V6 engine, and the amenities are literally through the roof!

2010 Models to choose from:

Coupe model is sporty and lightweight, and it is very fun to drive! Creature comforts are many and it rides like a dream. It takes a minute to figure out exactly how fast this little car can but once you are dialed in you can easily see how well it handles tight corners and acceleration is a breeze even up inclines. Mileage is same as it was with the Sedan model 22 city and 31 on the highway. MSRP for the base model is around $22,555.

Sedan model has four doors, and a trunk. This car has become the holy grail of compact sedans. It is an Iconic car model and still a fan favorite! Sedans carry more people and more cargo than the Coupe and they perform very similarly. Mileage is same as it was with the Coupe 22 city and 31 on the highway. MSRP for the base model is around $21,055. Sedans are typically for young families, grandparents, your mom or dad, the manager at the Old Navy store, your bus driver, and an insurance company IT guy plus many others.

Honda's newest Accord model is the Cross Tour which is the perfect vehicle to be in when there comes a sign showing the way to the nearest off-road rally! This is an amazing new machine from Honda and it promises to be a very popular model! Rest assured I will be watching for a used Honda Accord Cross Tour in a few years when I can afford a new car. The Cross Tour offers some really sweet amenities along with some important standard features as well. Mileage suffers a bit even though the engine is the same one used in the Coupe, and it gets 18 city and 27 on the highway. MSRP for the base model is around $29,670.

Head to head they are all pretty awesome rides but the design of each makes them each more suitable to one use or another where the other models may not be perfect for a particular user.

For example a young person heading off to college for the first time may choose the Coupe since it will typically be just them in the car most of the time.

The Cross Tour is a bit more expensive and yet most people may hardly notice that the mileage has gone down by about 4 mpg. In my opinion this model seems to be more for moms and grandparents or even single dads.

  • Many other companies attempt to emulate the sleek styling and economical design but cannot!
  • All things considered the Honda Accord has evolved into quite a desirable and very reliable car!
  • Honda Accord offers three models that really cover almost every one of us!!
Honda Accord has been in continuous production since the first model was sold in America back in 1976. Accord production was done in Marysville Ohio for many many years. I worked on water systems at many Honda Plants for Kinetico!
