A Cause of Male Impotence

JOEY S
There are many causes of male impotence such as alcohol, smoking, heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and emotional problems but I will concentrate on one possible cause.

A major study by Harvard medical school has shown that males that ride a motorcycle who ride more than 3 hours per week tend to suffer from impotence and may also suffer from other problems such as urinary problems for example not being able to empty fully their bladders. This is because the lining vessels of the compressed arteries in the penis are damaged because of the shaking of the seat caused by the engine of the motorcycle.

This is not good news for the males purchasing motorcycles as a means to get to work and performing other duties. There has been a recent increase in the sale of motorcycles as fuel prices are on the rise. Also the traffic congestion is worsening in most major cities around the world and as a result it is easier to move around a city in a motorcycle.

Males who ride a normal non motorized bicycle may also suffer from impotence. This is because the seats, as is the case with motorcycles, are usually hard. When a male sits on the hard seat it puts extra pressure on the perineum (the area between the genitals and anus) and temporarily restrict the blood from flowing to the penis.

However not all male who ride a motorcycle or a bicycle will suffer from impotence just as is the case that not all smokers will suffer from lung cancer. However there are effective strategies you can put in place if you must ride a motorcycle or a bicycle. It is recommended that you must not sit on a seat for extended periods of time as you want to avoid the pressing of the pelvic floor muscle.

You can also purchase specially made seats that are better designed for example they are softer and better shaped to reduce the chances of becoming impotent. The seats should be wide and not narrow. These seats are designed for males who ride long distances. You can also buy covers for the seat that are softer and well cushioned (some are filled with gel) that will reduce the pressure in the genital area. Another solution is to wear padded biking shorts. Also if you feel numbness in your genital area, stop riding for a few days. Instead, use your car and if you don't have one use public transport to move around.
