"A Celtic Fair: Traditional and Innovative Music for a Festive Gathering"

Maggie's Music/2007

This hammered dulcimer virtuoso and record label owner has been featured on the NPR radio program "All Things Considered" and the CBS-TV network news program Sunday Morning. The daughter of a jazz music pianist Maggie Sansone received a new and different musical instrument every year. But it wasn't until she was an adult that Maggie discovered the hammered dulcimer.

Maggie released her first album in 1987. Since then she has released a number of albums and started her own music label. On her newest released "A Celtic Fair: Traditional and Innovative Music for a Festive Gathering", the title says it all. The album is a collection of 12 tunes and tune sets of Celtic music which are played in the traditional Celtic and Elizabethan styles. On a few of the traditional tunes Maggie has added her own flair to the tunes and sometimes you have to give a careful listen to pick out the old favourite tunes. "A Celtic Fair" is an enjoyable album that mixes the old and the new in style, instruments, and tunes.

Maggie's Music is a music label that specializes in supporting her fellow Celtic music artists.
