A Child's Imagination

Barbara Manogue-Kushnirov
I am asleep said the worm to the book, that is how I learned how to cook.
The squirrel roamed the trees, stuck his nose in a hole and got surprised
by a harvest of bees. The bats came out at night, flying from the caves,
wandering about with fright. No need for the light, they only need to bite.
A duck wades in the pond. The shooter hollers " hoot Her", just don't go
in and ' Boot-her". The night crawls in, the the sleeper slumbers. The moon
is full. Quietness has come. A pin has dropped, everything stopped.
That was only the beginning, wait until you hear the ending!
