A Chocoholic's Bargain Shopping Guide: January Chocolate Sales
In December, I wrote A Chocoholic's Holiday Shopping Guide: Chocolate Santas Go Gourmet. Now that the holidays are over, you can get a real bargain on some gourmet, high-quality chocolates. Santas and holiday boxed chocolates are available online while supplies last. Though many of the sale chocolates are clearly for Christmas, chocolate is chocolate! And some of the chocolate bargains can be transformed into amazing Valentine's gifts for the creative bargain-hunters out there.

For the holidays, Dean & Deluca had offered a whimsical 12 oz. "Christmas Cabbie" Santa driving a bright yellow, chocolate taxi. Now you can find the "Christmas Cabbie" Santa under the "Sale" tab of the Dean & Deluca web site. The price as been reduced from $58 to an unbelievable $14.50! That's a savings of 75%.
Lake Champlain Chocolates (www.lakechamplainchocolates.com/specials.aspx)
This company produces all natural, Kosher-certified chocolates in Vermont. They have some great online chocolate sales, but they go quickly. Chocolate Santas, snowmen, and stocking stuffers are around 40% off. Take advantage of this opportunity to try delicious, gourmet Lake Champlain Chocolates.

January is the time for Godiva's Chocolate-Covered Winter Sale. 20 different chocolate gifts are up to 50% off. While there are chocolate Santas and advent calendars, most of the sale items are regular chocolates and truffles in a holiday-themed box. A little creativity on your part could transform a $42.00 box of Christmas chocolates into a $25.20 Valentine's gift. My favorite Belgian chocolatier is holding its January Whites Sale. A 1 lb. $32.00 box is now $20.00; a $48.00 1 ½ lb. is now only $30.00. Sounds like another winning Valentine's Day gift!
