A Christmas Miracle: The Search for Sarah Haley Foxwell Continues

Over 1000 People Show at Shorebirds Stadium to Search for Sarah

It absolutely amazes me what a community will do to help its neighbors - for on the day that many would normally spend celebrating with relatives and friends, over 1000 people showed up to help search for the 11 year old girl named Sarah Foxwell that has been missing from her home in Salisbury, Maryland since Tuesday, December 22.

On Thursday night, Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis held a press conference in which he asked for volunteers to meet at Shorebirds Stadium on Hobbs Road in Salisbury, Maryland at 7 a.m. for an organized search party. According to WBOC News 16, Lewis vowed he would not stop looking for her until she was found.

Yesterday over 25 areas were searched by air and land for the missing girl. Sarah was last seen Tuesday night in her home about 8 pm wearing fuzzy red pajamas with Christmas trees on them and a pink John Deere t-shirt. She is 4 foot 8 inches and weighs 78 pounds. Her younger sister saw her leave with the suspect Thomas James "T.J." Leggs later that night from their shared bedroom at 31000 block of Old Ocean City Road.

Leggs is 30 years old and is registered as a child sex offender in both Wicomico County Maryland and Delaware. He was picked up at his parents residence on Bennett Road in Salisbury Maryland on Wednesday morning, where he also resided.

Wicomico County Sheriff Mike Lewis was quoted by WBOC as saying "The suspect remains uncooperative. He has been of no assistance to our investigation."

Leggs was reportedly driving a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 four-door, long bed, champagne/tan pickup with a matching cap and Maryland registration 33M311. Although the police currently know where this vehicle is, they are asking that anyone who saw this vehicle or the suspect between 10 pm Tuesday night and 10 am Wednesday morning, when he was picked up, to call the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office at (410) 548-4891.

As for the amazing volunteers, they are currently in need of bottled water and since most local area businesses are closed today for Christmas they are asking for the communities help. If anyone has bottled water, please bring what you can to the Shorebirds Stadium on Hobbs Road in Salisbury.
