A Christmas Poem

Anne Therese McCorkell

Black Friday sales begin

The Christmas season home stretch

Thanksgiving food gorging

Delicious cravings are satisfied

Old St. Nick is racing to finish toys

The busiest elves are given door prizes

Children are busy writing their lists

Moms and Dads are racing through stores

St. Nick is so happy-it's his time of year

Away in his sleigh, traveling one day a year

Rudolph and others he names as they fly

Can't wait for his cookies and chocolate milk

And to sleep through the winter

Dreaming of new gifts for next year

For children as always grow fond of new things

New technology replaces some toys every year

All his reindeer and he travel as snow may fall

Listen and you may hear his sleigh land on your roof!
