A Christmas Poem: Christmas Morning Breaks

Amanda R. Dollak
The fire's burning low . . .
The kids are fast asleep . . .
The air is crisp with snow
As parents start to creep,
Placing 'neath glistening lights
And shiny Christmas balls
Presents sure to delight
When morning comes to call.
As nighttime shadows fade
And Christmas morning breaks,
God's glory is displayed
And remembrance awakes:
Past, present, future all
Mold together into one
As everyone recalls
Christmases come and gone;
Oh, the joyful memories
Echoing from the past,
And the empty treasuries
Saved for more to be amassed!
Regardless of life's bleakness
And loved ones we've laid to rest,
May each and every Christmas
Remind us how truly we're blest.
