A Christmas Poem for Mom and Dad

ArtsyBlaster
I found my list in your drawer,

Along with some teeth I couldn't ignore.

I admit, I snooped some more,

Got excited about the Nintendo on the closet floor.

That was a while ago,

Sometime when weekdays I did not know.

Up all night, excited and ready,

Thinking there's no chimneys in Hawaii.

Separated 'cause of time,

Those were the days; brother allergic to pine.

It'll be years before I move home,

But I still feel like the kid in "Home Alone."

I don't write lists anymore,

Thanks for a good credit score.

Someday, I'll keep teeth and hide presents too,

Only to be found by the kid sneezing, "Achoo."
