A Christmas Poem: Treasure the Good Times

David Polur
There are many things that come to mind

When Christmas time is near.

For some it's family, fun, and gifts

And others, it fills with fear.

When we think back to times as kids

Remembering toys, new socks, and grandpa's lifts

It feels so different now that we're older

Worried about paying for all those gifts!

I sit and write this Christmas poem

With my family in mind.

I think of how rare it was

For all to gather and be kind.

It's a rare treat to be together with loved ones

Joking, eating, tasting wines.

I think I just might change my focus this year

And treasure the good times.
