A Cinematic Tour of Seattle

In 1933 Tugboat Annie was filmed in Seattle, Washington. Since those early days the city has become a wildly popular location for many motion pictures and television shows. The film industry continues to utilize the lovely city of Seattle in many major movies. Here is a cinematic tour of the region.

1) Head for Elliott Bay and ride one of the Washington Ferries just like Michael Douglas did in Disclosure. This is also where one of the scenes from the 1933 movie Tugboat Annie was filmed.

2) Ride on the famous Seattle Monorail. Mr Elvis Presley was one of the famous passengers when he headed to the World Fair. Sylvester Stallone also filmed a major train jumping scene on the movie Assassins using this Monorail.

3) Pikes Place Market Place is a popular everyday tourist attraction in Seattle. It is also where Tom Hanks filmed a scene for Sleepless in Seattle and where Jeff Bridges strolled through during the filming of The Fabulous Baker Boys.

4) Piano Square. This location was the cover for the movie poster featuring Matt Dillon and Bridget Fonda for the movie Singles.

5) Seattle Center. This is where Kelsey Grammer in Frasier celebrated his 100th episode of his radio show on the famous sitcom.

6) The Space Needle was Dr Evils home on Austin Powers.

7) The Buckaroo Tavern was featured in 10 Things I Hate About You.

8) Union Square Grill was used in The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.

9) Ivars Acres Of Clams was used in Stephen Kings Rose Red movie and The Fabulous Baker Boys.

10) Virginia Inn Restaurant was used in Singles

11) Underground Seattle was used in the filming of Seven Hours To Judgment.

12) Arctic Dome was used in the filming of Sleepless In Seattle and Stephen Kings Rose Red.

13) Pacific Science Center was one of the locations for The Thin Thread.

14) The Edgewater Hotel was featured on Northern Exposure.

15) Inn At The Market was part of Sleepless in Seattle and The Black Widow.

16) West Montlake Park was part of Vanishing.

17) Woodland Park Zoo was part of Northern Exposure.

18) Ye Olde Curiosity Shop was part of Scorchy.

19) Masins Furniture was part of The Fabulous Baker Boys.

20) Waterfront Trolley was part of Dogfight.

21) Metro Bus Tunnel was part of Disclosure and The Vanishing.

22) King Street Station was featured in St Frances and Trouble In Mind.

23) Ballard Bridge was in The Slender Thread.

24) Aurora Bridge was part of The Hand That Rocks The Cradle.

25) Furniture Row was part of Ring.

26) The neighborhood of Wallingford was part of Harry and the Hendersons, Say Anything, and American Heart.

27) The neighborhood of Georgetown was part of the X Files, Book Of Stars, and Assassins.

28) International District was part of Get Carter and Dogfight.

29) Lake Union neighborhood was part of Sleepless In Seattle.

30) Fremont Neighborhood was part of Say Anything, The Hand That Rocks The Cradle, and Mr Q.

31) Alki Beach was part of Sleepless in Seattle and American Heart.

32) Seattle Asian Art Museum was in Trouble In Mind.

33) Seattle Art Museum was in Little Buddha.

34) Sakaya Monastery was in Little Buddha.

35) Moore Theater was part of Dogfight.
