A City Easter Morn

Brendan W Vittum
The idea is simple - produce a poem of how you spent your Easter. Here then is my Easter thus far.

A City Easter Morn

Leaving
the bookkeeping,
I headed out
to the gray
clouds and muttering
winds.
Snowflakes, scattered, swirling
while smoking at the rail.
11:15 AM - the alcoholics
already argue
how to
roast the roast.
Two teen males,
scuffing lazily
through the human canyons
joked
what would happen
"if their junk got shot off."
retreating -
my smoking stub
in the ashtray -
I upstairs
to my billing,
bookkeeping.
Waiting -
a family phone call -
go cook a lamb.
