Network Solutions, LLC is a technology company established in 1979. Since its outset, the domain name registration business has become Network Solutions' most important division. Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) acquired Network Solutions in 1995 and registered it on NASDAQ in 1997.

VeriSign then sold the registrar business to Pivotal Equity Group in 2003. The company, however, continued to operate and function under its same original branding (Network Solutions). VeriSign, nevertheless, retained the registry business component of Network Solutions, which had been created by the latter prior to its acquisition by VeriSign.
