A Closer Look at Varnum Brook School

Varnum brook School is located on Hollis Street. The principle is nice and very good with kids. The Vice Principle is also nice and works well with the kids. The school is the second elementary school in Pepperell. It is the building block for the middle school. There are close to 500 kids in the school. The teachers are nice and kid friendly. There are several teachers per grade. The grades in the Varnum Brook is from grade 3 to 6. There are plenty of teachers per grade. The average class is about 24 kids per class. They have on full time nurse. She is very friendly. She makes the kids feel very comfortable. She is able to administer medicine with a doctors note. She does yearly height and weight checks. Depending upon their grade the kids may have their vision, hearing or checkup for scolosis done. If the nurse isnt there, there usually iss a substitute nurse. There are several field trips per grade. There is a big trip in 5th grade called Nture's Classroom. This is where the child has the opportunityt o go to a camp area for 3 days and do nature activities which also incorporate adademics. There is a charge for this. MCAS results which is the state testing has been very good. Kids have performed well. There are also after school enrichment acitivities for kids to enhance their knowledge in certain subjects or just do an activity. The school is a good size, well run nad as stated earlier is a building block for the middle school. I wold recommend the school to anyone living in the area.
