A Comedy for the Common Worker: Office Space

The Outlaw
Office Space is a funny comedy that has a great plot to it that every person who has every held an office desk job can truly appreciate. The film stars Ron Livingston, Jennifer Aniston and is directed by Mike Judge. The film focuses on Ron Livingston who plays the role of a worker named Peter who is just fed up with his job. Every day his boss yells at him and he does the same boring tasks at his job. He is going out with Jennifer Aniston in the film but gets into a fight with her as well.

The film starts to get funny when Peter decides that he is just going to change his philosophy about his job and working there. When a man is hired to give the company more financial flexibility and to make budget cuts, Peter knows he is going to be fired so what does he do? He comes into work late everyday and has a non chillant attitude. When he is asked by the budget employee what is worng with the company Peter gives him a huge list of everything wrong that needs to be fixed starting with his boss. It gets funnier as Peter is PROMOTED instead of being fired while his two good friends and co-workers in the company learn that they are about to be fired.

Using this new nonchelant attitude, Peter tries to convince his girlfriend, played by Jennifer Aniston to quit her job as a waitress and wearing large quantaties of buttons and pins on her shirt for her job.

The plot gets rolling as Peter and his co-workers come up with the idea of stealing money from the company's bank account. The plan is for money to be slowly withdrawed every couple of hours and days but instead more than half the money from the account is taken out and Peter and his co-workers start to panic when they realize that Peter's boss and the company will find out and they will be sent to jail.

Peter toys with the idea of giving his boss a letter explaining the whole ordeal and returning the money. On the day that he makes his decision, he slips the check for the stolen money under his boss' door and leaves. However later that day when he returns to his company, he finds the building in flames and the check he had left was torn up and the company is in shambles.

I encourage everyone to see this hilarious comedy.
