A Convicted Murderer Saves a Life

A Story About an Antihero

Funsponge
Most people who are in prison are murderers, thieves, rapists and drug dealers. They did the crime and now they are paying the price. Even though they have committed heinous crimes, they are still human beings. The only difference between us and prison mates is that they broke the law and now they are living in a cell with a four walls. They are just like you and me because of how they feel emotionally. Of course being in prison will harden you, but it won't make you emotionless. Our emotions are what makes us human.

Not all prisoners are hardened thugs. Arthur Lee "Leechain" Scott is a prime example. On August 13, 1985, Arthur Lee Scott was convicted of the murder of Jimmy Lee "Cricket" Harrington in Savannah, Georgia. Scott gunned down Harrington with a saw-off shotgun and a .22 caliber gun on December 7, 1984. Scott was sentenced to life at D Ray James Correctional Facility in Folkston, Georgia. But on August 24, 2008, he saved the life of a female prison counselor. She was having a one on one session with an inmate when he suddenly put her in a chokehold. Luckily, Scott was walking by and came to the rescue of the female counselor. She was rushed to the hospital with no serious injuries. The inmate who attacked her was transferred to another prison.

Even though Scott killed somebody in cold blood twenty four years ago, he is a hero for saving the female counselor's life.
