What is a video documenter? A video documenter contacts businesses to take a video inventory of the business's inventory. In case of fire, theft, or other damage, the business owner has proof and documentation of its valuables when contacting the police or the insurance company. This is a necessity for most, if not all, businesses. And since most small business owners are busy or occupied taking care of other things to keep the business running they don't necessarily have the time to stop and take inventory or keep track of new inventory.
This is where you come in. You contact businesses by cold calling, mailing introductory letters or postcards about your business, dropping off business cards, or posting ads in the business pages or newspapers and offer your service. You will need a camcorder and you may want to record the actual taping of inventory that way the business owner will have an actual audio recording of the entire inventory. You can arrange to conduct the inventory recordings during after hours, during slow times, or whenever it's convenient for the business owner.
You will make copies of the recording to give to the owner and to keep a copy for yourself just in case the owner needs one in the future. If the owner obtains new inventory, you can record the new inventory. For this business opportunity, you will need to know how to operate a camcorder but other than that this opportunity is pretty easy and it is a much needed one for the busy small to medium business owner that doesn't have time to keep track of all their inventory but definitely needs to just in case they need it as a result of unexpected incidents.
Errand Business
Starting an errand service can be a very rewarding business. You can offer your services to the elderly, disabled, and busy new mothers running their errands for them. Your business will consist of contacting your clients on a weekly, monthly, or even daily basis getting a list of their shopping needs and go shopping for them. You will promptly drop off their items and collect your payment, or you can choose to collect partial payment upfront before you do any shopping and then collect the remaining payment after you deliver their merchandise.
You may want to look into getting a website to help market your business. In order to get your business off and running, you will definitely need a stack of business cards, word of mouth advertising, and print advertising including posting ads in local papers, putting up fliers around town at various locations, like grocery stores and libraries, anywhere older people, new mothers, or the disabled may visit.
How much you can make depends on how much you charge for your services, how many clients you have, and what services you offer. Along with shopping you can add services such as picking up clothes from the dry cleaners, picking up medications from the drug store, and paying bills. An errand service is a great service for those who are physically restricted and have limited means of getting out and about. This is a good business for those who like to shop and help others.
