Here's the amusing part. It seems that a team of scientists at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University have been working on a cream for erectile dysfunction. Easy to use, you simply rub it on and it uses encapsulated nanoparticles to deliver nitric oxide and prescription drugs that penetrate the tissues. (Here's the funny part) According to Emax Health.com, the cream has already been tested on lab rats. That's right.
Which brings me to the point of this article. The topic cream for erectile dysfunction has been treated on lab rats. Hmmm....this paints a humorous picture in my mind. Imagine, a team of scientists, college educated men and women, geared up in protective gear and wearing heavy plastic gloves, standing around a group of lab rats with a jar of erectile dysfunction curing cream in their hands. The scientists are probably excited, as they close in on the lab rats, hopeful that THIS CREAM will cure erectile dysfunction. Maybe they even high-five each other on the way to the rat cages.
The rats see the scientists approaching, and at first the rats are skeptical. They may wonder, "Who are these people and why are they looking at us this way?" Then, the topical cream for erectile dysfunction is applied, and....what do you know? The day is looking up! Hey, being a lab rat isn't so bad anymore.
The exciting news is this. Some of the rats saw "an improvement" in their erectile dysfunction! WEE HOO! Girl rats rejoice! There is now hope they can get some action in the lab! (Did you even know rats suffered from erectile dysfunction? I didn't.)
The researchers treated three groups of rats. One group received only the cream for erectile dysfunction. The second group received the cream and an experimental drug for erectile dysfunction called sialorphin. The third group was given the cream and the popular drug Cialis. It appears that the group of rats that received the cream AND the drugs saw "results" in about thirty minutes. (I'm taking a wild guess here, but maybe the friction of the rubbing caused an increase in results?)
My question is this. What do you think the scientist did during those thirty minutes? Do you think they watched the mice excitedly, for a glimpse of a.....mouse erection? Or do you think they went and washed up?
I can't help but think that there are some very happy lab rats out in the world today, and they are loving this new study!
