A Daddy's Heart

Canopy of My Heart Series

A Daddy's Heart

It's as big as Texas
wide enough to liberally embrace
each one of his own
plus others who are not

A Daddy's Heart

It wakes him up at 2:30 a.m.
to pick up his child
from work, even if he
just got to sleep a
few hours earlier

A Daddy's Heart

It gives and gives and gives
even when he himself
has to do without

A Daddy's Heart

Has him caring
long after his son's cradle is gone,
the high school years are over
the college semesters are completed
the first career has come
the house, the wife, the car
the routine of life
has caused him to become
a grandfather

A Daddy's Heart

Loves when son acts unloveable
Reaches when daughter seems unreachable
Hopes when hope is invisible
Believes when problems are unfathomable
Inspires when everyone is exhausted

What a precious work indeed J.E. This made me cry. I never had a dad and knew my real father nor even seen a picture of him. BUT, I DO have a Father, and He is in heaven waiting for me. So beautiful.
