Lift me up with loving care.
And if I cry out in pain
I know you are always there.
When I fall I feel your heart
Reach to capture that of mine.
As I sing I feel your soul
Turn my every note devine.
You have always been there, Lord
In everything that I do.
Like a husband, filled with love,
You are there to see me through
Like a friend who's filled with faith,
All my confidence you've kept.
Like a father, filled with pride,
You have guided every step.
So I wonder then, my Lord
What is is I've done for you?
Is there any part of me
You have judged to be true blue?
Am I a disappointment
Or am I your pride and joy?
Am I all that you have hoped for
Or another senseless toy?
Let me offer prayer, my Lord
For all you have said and done?
Let me repay all the gifts
You have sent that were not won.
Let me praise your holy name
For all you have been to me.
Let me fall down on my knees
Because you have set me free.
Although I know I forget
To say what's inside my heart.
Know it will always keep you
As it has right from the start.
When I am gone from the earth
Please accept that this was true
My life was all it could be
My Father, because of you!
