A Dealer of Pastels

He paints with blue, he paints with the brown, he paints all white with an ease.
Colors he declines to paint right out loud are turned for the other three.
Skimming all night and sanding all day, a craving comes for sudden normalcy.
But train your brush for this palette, and he'll drop you to your knees.

Though never there was a canvas as bare as the one we always paint here.
This naked and heated and ghastly piece of work wrenches away the years.
True, he paints blue, he paints with a brown, and paints all the white until clear.
But journey too close to his artistic side and your own screams will ring in your ear.
