A Diamond in the Rough

In the little town of Starford, Pennsylvania, sits a hidden gem of its time. A brother of four came across a little hole in the wall town, and in amongst it sat a building for sale. He decided to talk with his three other brothers, who all had business experience on their belt buckles, about buying this hidden treasure. Bought in December of 2002, the brothers did the necessary business procedures to open in March of 2003 and follow plans of becoming Bar/Restaurant Owners.

Donald, Mark, Arthur, and John Barris now owners of a new Bar/Restaurant needed to come up with a name for their new business investment. Inspiration for the name came from the town where the bar is located. Starford, Pennsylvania was once a bustling coal town, therefore the name Bootleggers seemed the right fit.

Selecting employees to work at their bar was an easy process, following the guidelines that each person must be honest, energetic, a people person, and friendly. The following candidates met the criteria the four brothers where looking for and soon became Bootlegger employees; Chrystal, Turtle, Carrie, Megan, Leann, Savanna, Ginna, Krissy, Megan, and Ashley.

Although in a small country town Bootlegger's atmosphere is represented more like that of a small night club rather than a normal "Honky Tonk". Offering a variety of themed events on different nights of the week, to accommodate a wide spread of their customer base.

Saturday nights are usually the big theme and event nights, Thursday the customers can enjoy wing night specially priced for your convenience, and on Friday they offer a night they call Fun Night.

All who work at Bootleggers get involved in the special event planning, offering up their own ideas to provide a fun, creative atmosphere for their work place. Bootleggers will also take in the suggestions of its customers who offer theme ideas to them. At Bootleggers they highly value the customer's opinion; after all if it wasn't for them, they wouldn't be in business!

Working hard to decorate the bar for the themed nights and having huge turn outs is one of the most rewarding things for the owners and employees of Bootleggers. The big turn outs and the customer approvals allow them to continue with these fun filled nights for your enjoyment.
