I removed the lip balm from the packaging and it is a pale yellow/green, and shaped like at egg. It has EOS on the top of it. Approximately two thirds down it has a slit all the way around it. At one side it has an indentation where you can grip it, to undo the egg shaped lip balm.
I held it and turned it anti-clockwise, and it unscrewed. When I opened it I had a big surprise. The lip balm was stuck to the top part of the 'egg', and there wasn't any for me to use. There were segments, just like an orange, and some of the lip balm below it.
I did think about taking it back, and then figured if I got a box cutter knife and pushed it carefully up inside the lid, it should come out. The 'half an egg' shape did come down, and I carefully pushed it into it's frame.
Onto the lip balm.
The lip balm is a creamy/beige color, and has the honeydew fragrance, and taste to it. I held the lip balm, with my thumb grasping the flat area on the side, and then lifted it up to my lips. I moved it across both the top and lower lips. I then put it down, and it was on my desk calender. It wasn't completely flat, so the lip balm rolled around it. I am not sure how clean it is now, because of all the writing on the calendar, and also I put everything that I write about on that area. Oh well, I am sure it won't kill me.
I then pursed my lips together, and I had plenty of moisture in them. They didn't feel as if I had used a petroleum product on them, and no greasy feeling either.
When I checked on the packaging it states:
With shea butter and jojoba oil for happy, moist super-smooth lips. It is 100% natural. 95% organic. It is paraben and petrolatum free. Packed with antioxidant-rich vitamin E, shea butter and jojoba oil."
This product is not tested on animals and is gluten-free.
The weather turned cold recently, here in Florida, and I have been using the EOS lip balm. It does work well, and my lips feel great, but it is no better than Blistex Complete Moisture. When I compare size and price, they pretty much work out to be the same. The Blistex is .15 ounce, and the EOS is .25 ounce. The EOS runs about a dollar more.
I will probably stick to the Blistex because of it being in a tube form. It is so much easier to carry in my purse.
