A Dining Guide for Rockbridge, Ohio

Dining in Rockbridge Ohio might be some what of a challenge, as this is one of the tiniest towns ever, and the town of Rockbridge is often confused with the country side, additionally referred to as the same.

Don't let this discourage you! They are terrific options for dining here, in the heart of the Hocking Hills. You will need a map, and a sense of direction to hit some of the hidden gems however.

The first place worth mentioning in Rockbridge Ohio is Valero's pizza shop. Don't turn your nose up at the thought of eating gas station pizza just yet! Thisi s some of the best pizza in Ohio. I love it, and I always find a reason to stop by Valero when I am passing through the Hocking Hills. The prices are great and the quality of this delicious pizza is surprising for a gas station pizza shop.

Next you will come across the Route 33 diner, a classic 1950's themed diner. The Route 33 diner is located as the name suggests. This diner is expensive, and small. On weekends a crowd usually forms, and you will have about an hour wait for greasy diner food, at unbelievably high prices. Who wants to wait over an hour to get a seat, then wait for another hour for a hamburger, where cheese costs an additional $1.25 per slice of american cheese. I am not exaggerating here. I ate lunch here three months ago, I had a small cheeseburger, french fries and an iced tea. The burger was ok, not worth what I paid for it, but it was ok. My meal came to nearly twelve dollars, not including the tip for a burger, fries and iced tea!

Next you will find Great Expectations, a cafe, book shop and more. This is a great place to get a coffee, and a panini sandwich. The prices are more affordable and the service is better than at the Diner and Great expectations is located directly behind the Diner. I give Great Expectations two thumbs up. I love the atmosphere, food and coffee!

Additionally out in the country the famed Glenlaurel Inn and spa. This is a Scottish themed Inn, but you can eat here without staying in the Inn or cottages. Be prepared to spend a nice chunk of change while dining at Glenlaurel Inn and Spa. The meals are 5 to 7 courses, and feature delicious gourmet menus, reservations are required. Additionally this is a dry township. This means if you want to drink alcoholic beverages you must bring your own, Glenlaurel can not sell alcohol to anyone. The drive out to the Glenlaurel Inn is beautiful and well worth the time and expense.

There are a few other small delis in the vicinity, but I have very little knowledge of them, and they are very far out into the country. I hope this dining guide helps you to find a great meal in Rockbridge Ohio.
