A Distant Father

A father must be fun to have,

but I wouldn't know cause he's a no show.

Even though I would like to know him,

I know my chances are very slim,

for a while my life was dim.

Deep down inside I know he cared.

Maybe some fathers are just real scared.

Frightened of what I would never know,

if only he had seen me grow.

In my heart I love him dear,

but I will never shed a tear, i'll always have my mom near.

Don't worry father i've done real good,

even without you I knew I could.

Hope to see you some day,

but for that I will not pray.
