Regardless as to whether you were born to be adventurous or you simply are looking for a little excitement in your life, taking a bike tour of New England countryside can rejuvenate you. This is true no matter how tense or overworked you may be. There is just something about cycling in New England that is great for the soul.

Cape Cod is one of the most popular biking routes through New England. This city lies across the Cape Cod Canal, forming part of the state of Massachusetts. It is also full of New England charm. The real attraction to this city for anyone who is cycling in New England is that there are a lot of natural land preserves where you can be alone to enjoy the beautiful pine trees, marshes and vineyards. This area is actually so free of human intervention that during certain seasons, whenever you go cycling in New England, you can actually cycle for miles without ever meeting another person.

Whenever you pick up a guide to New England you will see that the area is full of places to go walking and cycling in New England. People mainly visit these New England cities on a bike throughout the summer. One of the most favorite places for people to go cycling in New England is the Cape Cod National Seashore which was established in 1961. This is very different than the crowded Southern beaches where you will find very little peace and quiet because here, the only company that you will usually have are the lighthouses and the lush waves that are washing over them. Of course, since New England is one of America's first settlements there are a variety of historical districts including Route 6A, Old King's Highway.

The best loved place to go cycling in New England is along the Cape Cod Rail Trail. Whenever you are cycling in New England you just simply have to ride on this trail which was created in 1978. It was at this time that the rails stopped running in the Cape. This was just after two of the biggest bridges connecting the region to the mainland were built. Today the scenic paths are some of the most popular paths for going cycling in New England because they run through salty marshes, cranberry bogs and Nickerson State Park. These paths are generally flat so they are not only great for professional cyclists but for novices as well.
