A fab four in Ferndale

On Friday night in downtown Ferndale at the corner of 9 Mile and Planavon there was a cool breeze and some cool, if informal, music drifting on it courtesy of Dan, Sidney, Sierra and Julie. This quartet shared a guitar, a bongo drum, and some cigarettes as they had an informal jam at a wooden bench beneath a wilting sunflower.

Dan and Sierra played guitar, while Julie and Sidney added lighthearted vocals as the four relaxed after attending a concert at AJ's Cafe. Personable and cool, these Royal Oak residents entertained me and any who happened to stroll by with their music and their relaxed charm. With a nearly full moon overhead, it was a perfect night to drink in the laughter, music, and smiles of four good friends.

When they left, Sidney commented, "We should do this more often." I hope they do and that I will be around when it happens.
