Locals and guests at Bishop's Lodge can enjoy the Thanksgiving Grand Buffet, tree-trimming and complimentary photos with Santa on Thanksgiving Day this year.

Other activities for the weekend include chef demonstrations, cookie-decorating, wine tastings, tours of Bishop's Lodge art collection, tours of the historic Lamy Chapel, and holiday movies for children.

The Thanksgiving Grand Buffet will be served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 26. Reservations are required.

The menu includes all-natural, range and organic fresh turkey, apricot and maple gazed smoked Virginia ham, green chile brioche and chorizo stuffing and shitake mushroom pan gravy, local honey-Chimayo chile glazed yams with pecans, green bean casserole with mushrooms topped with crispy onions, sauteed brussel sprouts with pistachios, and a variety of desserts including pumpkin creme brulee, apricot pecan turnovers, apple pie with the Lodges' own apples, mile high chocolate raspberry cake and assorted petit fours, and more. The cost of the buffet is $49 per person, $39 for seniors and $19 for children 5 and up.

On Friday, Nov. 27, Santa will be available for photos all day and guests can help decorate the Bishop's Lodge Christmas tree between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Chef demonstrations will be Friday, Nov. 27 and Sat., Nov. 28 at 11 a.m., and cookie decorating will be 2 p.m. the same days.

On Wed., Nov. 25 a wine tasting will be offered at 4 p.m., and on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 27 and 28, art tours will be available at 1 p.m. and Chapel tours will be offered at 6 p.m. All events will take place in the Central Lodge except for the holiday movies for children, which will be held in the Thunderbird of the Central Lodge.

Author Margaret Moore Booker will sign books and give a fireside chat about her new book, "The Santa Fe House" on Sat., Dec. 12 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Central Lodge of the Bishop's Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa.

Ms. Booker will also discuss Archbishop Lamy and his home on the grounds of the Resort, and the Archbishop's influence on the architecture of Santa Fe. Tours of the chapel will be available upon request after the talk, and hot cider and tea will be provided.

Christmas in Santa Fe has holiday traditions all its own. Candlelit farolitos line the snowy streets and buildings, crowds fill the streets singing Christmas carols by open fires, and the scent of pinon firewood fills the air.

Guests at Bishop's Lodge can enjoy a variety of special events including a Christmas Grand Buffet, a New Year's Eve Dinner, and a peppering of scheduled chef demonstrations, kids' cooking lessons, wine tastings, tours of Bishop's Lodge art collection, tours of the historic Lamy Chapel, and holiday movies for children.

The Christmas Grand Buffet will be served from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on December 25. Reservations are required. The cost of the buffet is $49 per person, $39 for seniors and $19 for children 5 and up.

The New Year's Eve Dinner will offer two seatings on December 31 - 6:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. The evening will include live music and party favors for welcoming in the new year. Cost is $79 per person.

Free Chef demonstrations will be offered on Sat., Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 at 11 a.m., and free kids' cooking lessons will be 2 p.m. the same days. From Dec. 18 to Jan. 3, and art tours will be offered at 1 p.m. and Chapel tours will be offered at 6 p.m. daily.

All events will take place in the Central Lodge except for the holiday movies for children, which will be held in the Thunderbird Room of the Central Lodge.
