for you I must write.
I miss you so much,
and this is my plight.
I wish I had words,
to let you know then.
I was just so young,
that wasn't a sin.
Twenty one was my age,
the day that you died.
The cancer that took you,
it had not that right!
It revenged your brain,
your memory it took.
You didn't know me,
I knew, by the look.
No help from the doctors,
not much time that was left.
The cancer extensive,
our family bereft.
The harsh words uttered,
the cancer it screamed.
The words they still hurt,
I cried, a big stream.
The cancer your voice took,
you could no longer speak.
No words could be spoken,
you could only look meek.
I knew there was something,
that you needed to tell.
Something to tell you,
I needed as well.
One day you were lucid,
God gave you a voice.
Your love you proclaimed,
you loved me, your choice!
My love, I proclaimed,
to you I did tell.
So many other things,
I'd love to say as well.
Merciless cancer,
Daddy's life it did take.
I was robbed of my Dad,
Regret in it's wake.

I just lost my father to cancer in November, and I can relate to every word of this
I was 25 and feel every word of your poem.
One of the saddest moments in a persons life is the death of a parent.
