A Fed-Up Jon Gosselin Returns Family Dogs to Breeder

In one of the nastiest celebrity (I use that term lightly) divorces ever, Jon and Kate Gosselin can't even agree on how to take care of their family pets.

The Jon and Kate Plus 8 stars have now reportedly returned the family dogs, Nala and Shoka, to their breeder. The German shepherd pups were part of several Jon and Kate Plus 8 episodes earlier this year. Viewers watched as the family picked out the puppies, brought them home and attempted to adjust to a household overloaded with 8 kids and 2 dogs.

Matriarch Kate Gosselin didn't even let the Gosselin kids get a word in edgewise when it came to naming their new dogs. She had the names already picked out- Nala and Shoka. Nala was named after a character in The Lion King and Shoka was the name of a man the Gosselin's befriended when they renewed their wedding vows in Hawaii last year. Many viewers thought Kate was mean about not letting the kids have a say in what they would name the puppies. Fans of the show were also treated to footage of Kate's obvious frustration with the dogs when they urinated on her brand new carpet.

According to FOX News, After Jon Gosselin ran his mouth to People Magazine this summer saying that his kids "beat up" on the family dogs, the Humane Society in Berks County, PA received numerous complaints of animal cruelty. Jon Gosselin quickly set the record straight on that, but stated that his soon-to-be ex wife Kate refuses to take care of the dogs when it's her week to stay at their Wernersville, PA home with their 8 kids so he had no choice but to return them. Jon Gosselin's New York apartment apparently doesn't allow pets so he couldn't take the dogs with him.

Dog breeder Jeff Christopher readily agreed to take the Gosselin's dogs back. He told Radar Online that he will keep the dogs "indefinitely" and would not put them up for adoption in the future. So at least the dogs will have a permanent home this time, at Christopher's family-friendly farm house.

So add this incident to the heartache that the 8 Gosselin kids have already faced. Nothing is more cruel than snatching a child's pet away, but it's especially sad if it's in the middle of a bitter divorce. While the Gosselin dogs can indeed be considered a casualty in this whole mess, the 8 Gosselin children are the ones who will suffer the most.
